Requirements for energy and nutrients of a child, who has only just learned to walk, are much different compared to an adult. Toddlers need up to two times more of nutrients compared to an adult. Based on the world's nutrition recommendations (per kg body weight), a toddler requires nearly:
- 5.5 times more iron
- 4 times more calcium
